The center of the earth? Yeah we’ve been there. It’s one of our regular Tuesday activities. No really. At Nat Geo we dig deep, like the core of the earth deep, to tell stories that matter, show photos that wow, and connect with those who get excited about things like soil.
We are the know no limits people. Those who’ve ventured into the vastness of space and studied the microscopic. We are always ready to take on new adventures and bring you along with us because there’s always more to learn. So get ready for that “Tuesday” adventure with us to explore the familiar, dig deeper into the unknown, and venture into the unimaginable. There are levels to curiosity. Let’s find them.

EARTH'S SANDBOXES:

Explore the layers of your city.

National Geographic divulges the earth's secrets by breaking boundaries and leaping outside comfort zones. From digging up bones belonging to beasts of the past to uncovering new cities long forgotten. In many ways, each issue of National Geographic acts as a time capsule, illustrating stories of the past, present, and future worlds. The "Earth's Sandboxes" exhibit held at the National Geographic Museum, will hold the layers of cities around the world. These layers serve to remind us that it's never too late to journey to the depths of the universe and discover something new.
GEO GALA:
The Geo Gala will be held at the National Geographic Museum in Washington, DC. It will honor people who dedicate themselves to digging deeper in their corner of the universe. Because "digging deeper" isn't specific to one action, those honored will include a variety of people from adventure seekers, to scientists, to teachers. The event will also showcase the "Earth's Sandboxes" exhibit. This exhibit will be open all day to the public and closed at night for the event. The sandboxes showcased will then be sent to their cities
